A client was seeking provision out of her father’s estate due to financial need. The client and her father had had a strained relationship and he had chosen to be totally estranged from her in the last years of his life.
His Will left all of his estate to other relatives.
The matter was complex due to the very modest size of the estate and the hostilities between the family members.
My efforts helped to ensure that a settlement was achieved which my client was pleased with. Without my involvement, the estate would inevitably have been exhausted by the costs of the litigation, leaving my client with nothing.
