Mullins strengthens team to support Queensland’s growth

Brisbane-based law firm, Mullins Lawyers, is proud to announce the appointment of Justin McInally as a Partner in its growing Property team.

With more than 20 years of experience in property law, Justin joins from HopgoodGanim, bringing with him deep industry knowledge and a proven track record across complex property transactions. His appointment significantly enhances Mullins’ capabilities in commercial sales and acquisitions, leasing, and large-scale property development — key areas aligned with Queensland’s evolving infrastructure and investment landscape.

Justin’s extensive experience includes advising on the acquisition, disposal and leasing of major CBD buildings, shopping centres, rural holdings, industrial sites, and future residential development projects. He is recognised for his expertise in “off the plan” transactions and his growing interest in the build-to-rent sector — a sector gaining momentum across Queensland.

Over the course of his career, Justin has advised a broad spectrum of clients, including ASX-listed and private developers, syndicators, government bodies, airports, and high-net-worth investors. His international legal experience, gained at global firms in both Brisbane and the UK, has seen him represent multinational, government, and foreign-listed entities on high-value, strategic property matters.

Mullins Managing Partner, Sam McIvor said the timing of Justin’s appointment is no coincidence “Queensland is on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation infrastructure and property boom as we head toward the 2032 Olympics. Justin’s commercial acumen and deep understanding of development and property investment make him a key asset — not just for our clients, but for the future of the firm.”

Justin’s arrival reflects a period of strong, deliberate growth for Mullins.

In the past year, the firm has promoted four new partners, strategically recruited Mitchell Osborne from top-tier firm Dentons, appointed a new Managing Partner, and welcomed James Holmes as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. These leadership appointments have also coincided with the opening of Mullins’ new office space in the Riverside Centre — a sign of the firm’s commitment to future growth, collaboration, and innovation.

With these appointments and a clear vision, Mullins is positioning itself to support Queensland through its next phase of growth.
