Mullins attracts senior property partner Gary Koh amid continued growth in Queensland market

Brisbane-based commercial law firm Mullins Lawyers has strengthened its Property team with the appointment of leading property lawyer Gary Koh, who joins the firm after more than 20 years with Gadens.

Gary’s move comes at a time of sustained activity across Queensland’s property, development and infrastructure sectors, with Mullins continuing to invest in senior capability to support growing client demand.

A highly regarded property specialist, Gary brings deep expertise across property developments, infrastructure projects, hotel management agreements, acquisitions and disposals, and commercial and retail leasing.

He advises a broad client base including developers, hotel owners, high net worth individuals, listed property trusts, and government and resources sector clients on projects of state significance.

Gary has extensive experience drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts for the sale and purchase of commercial, residential and rural properties, as well as leading due diligence on major acquisitions.

He also acts for landlords and tenants on leasing transactions and advises on residential and strata developments.

Gary has been recognised in The Best Lawyers in Australia™ since 2020 for his work in property law.

Commenting on the appointment, Mullins’ Managing Partner Sam McIvor said Gary’s arrival reflects the firm’s continued growth and focus on attracting senior talent aligned with its strategic direction.

Gary is a highly respected practitioner within the Queensland market and nationally, bringing extensive experience across complex property and development transactions.  Gary’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to growth and further strengthens our capacity to deliver on major projects and transactions as the firm responds to increasing client demand in this growing sector”.

Gary said the firm’s trajectory and strong market position made the move a compelling one.

After more than two decades at Gadens, this was a great opportunity to join a firm with clear momentum in the Queensland market. Mullins has a strong client base and a reputation for delivering practical, commercial advice, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the next phase of its growth.

Mullins continues to see strong demand across its Property practice, driven by ongoing development, investment and infrastructure activity across Queensland, with the firm continuing to invest in senior capability to support this growth.
