Partner

Alex is a Partner in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, specialising in the construction, development and infrastructure sector and offering more than 12 years’ experience in complex, high-stakes disputes arising from major projects.

Alex has advised principals, contractors, state-owned entities and government bodies on disputes valued in excess of $1 billion, spanning projects across Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.  He has an exceptional track record acting across the full spectrum of project participants before Courts, arbitral tribunals and adjudicators, including in matters involving complex delay and disruption claims.  Prior to joining Mullins Lawyers, Alex worked with a specialist construction firm in Brisbane, a leading US firm in Abu Dhabi and a top-tier Australian firm.

Beyond formal disputes, Alex provides strategic counsel in the pre-contract and contract management phase to ensure clients’ contractual rights are protected. By reviewing key terms, clarifying scope and aligning responsibilities, he assists clients to manage risk proactively and reduce the likelihood of future disputes.  His deep understanding of technical construction issues equips him to address potential risks – from latent conditions, design errors, variations and critical delay – before they escalate.

Drawing on prior experience from top-tier Australian and international firms, Alex advises across all stages of the contracting and dispute lifecycle, including litigation, arbitration, adjudications under security of payment legislation and proceedings before Dispute Adjudication Boards.

Clients value his commercial mindset and meticulous approach, which emphasises both legal protection and practical outcomes. Whether advising during project delivery or advocating in formal proceedings, Alex focuses on safeguarding his clients’ interests and supporting the commercial viability of their projects.
