Mullins Lawyers expands construction team with international talent

Mullins Lawyers has expanded its Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, strengthening its construction and major projects capability amid Queensland’s growing infrastructure and development pipeline.

The firm has welcomed Alex Nordang as Partner and Nick Thomas as Senior Associate, both joining from CDI Lawyers, a specialist construction firm following years at top tier and international firms

Alex brings international experience advising on billion-dollar construction and infrastructure projects across Australia, the Middle East and Europe. He has acted for major contractors and government bodies on complex, high-stakes disputes and is recognised for his strategic approach to resolving matters efficiently in high-pressure environments.

Nick advises developers and contractors on dispute avoidance, risk management and litigation, with a focus on keeping projects moving and minimising commercial disruption.

Managing Partner, Sam McIvor said the appointments reflect increased demand for specialist construction disputes expertise in Queensland.

“I am very pleased to welcome both Alex and Nick who bring significant expertise and experience advising clients on major projects and infrastructure, both in Queensland and internationally.  Their appointment enables our firm to meet significantly increased client demand as Queensland enjoys a once-in-a-generation project and infrastructure boom”.

“Their appointment adds further depth and expertise to our commercial litigation team and aligns with our strategic objective to support our clients in respect to complex project and infrastructure work.” Mr McIvor said.

Queensland’s construction pipeline continues to expand across commercial and residential development, driving demand for experienced disputes practitioners.

The appointments reflect Mullins’ ongoing investment in its construction and property practice, offering clients end-to-end legal support across construction, planning and environment, leasing, and property acquisition and sale.
