Chris is a Special Counsel in our Wills & Estates team. She specialises in estate planning, administration and litigation.
Clients appreciate Chris' straight-talking yet sensitive approach to estate matters; and her ability to ‘make sense of the chaos' and explain the process in difficult times.
Her expertise spans estate planning (Wills and testamentary trusts); estate administration (advising executors, administrators and beneficiaries); and contentious and non-contentious estate litigation (family provision applications, solemn form proceedings, interpretation or rectification of Wills).
Chris also acts in guardianship and administration matters including enduring powers of attorney, proceedings in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and advising attorneys, guardians and administrators regarding exercise of their powers.
Chris is particularly interested in complex estate administration, where there are intricate assets or debt apportionment to resolve. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a worldwide organisation that guides professional conduct and supports best practice.
Prior to being admitted as a solicitor, Chris worked across several general legal practice areas. Clients value her broad experience and well-rounded advice.
When clients come to me, it is because someone in their life has passed away or they wish to make plans for when the inevitable happens to them. I provide personal and practical advice to achieve the best outcome efficiently in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
