Mullins acts in landmark pub sale

Mullins has acted in the successful sale of one of Sydney’s landmark pubs.

The Engadine Tavern, in south-western Sydney, has changed hands in a transaction worth upwards of $20 million. The Tavern has been trading for nearly 70 years, and has been owned by the Liddy family for the past 39.

The transaction was multifaceted, involving the purchase of the Tavern business and five related properties, complex stamp duty advice and an intricate, layered purchasing structure.

Mullins’ Managing Partner Curt Schatz said, “It was a real pleasure for me to be asked to act for the client in this matter, with whom I have had a very long relationship.”

The team at Mullins was led by Sharon O’Toole, Special Counsel, assisted by Annabelle Efstathis, Solicitor.

Mullins acted for the buyer, and was assisted by JDK Legal, which acted as the Sydney Agent in relation to jurisdictional matters.
